Energetic Treatment
Biodynamic osteopathy and magnetism
The quietest session David offers. You stay dressed and lie still while he works with very light contact — biodynamic osteopathy, and the magnetism he was taught to use alongside it. Nothing is pushed, pulled or cracked. Some people feel a great deal during the session, others feel very little and notice the difference over the days that follow.

What is an energetic treatment?
Start with something you already know. If you cut your finger, nothing you put on it does the healing. A plaster keeps it clean; the repair itself — new skin, new blood vessels — happens on its own, and nobody has to tell your finger how. Biodynamic osteopathy begins there, with the part of you that already knows what it is doing.
It comes out of a long line of osteopaths. Andrew Taylor Still, who founded osteopathy and held that anyone can find disease, while finding health is the real work. William Garner Sutherland, whose hands grew lighter, not heavier, the longer he practised. And James Jealous, who spent decades making that quiet later work teachable.
Jealous added something unexpected: embryology. The forces that folded a cluster of cells into a face, a spine and a heart did not switch off when you were born — they are still organising you, and they are what repairs that cut finger. That is what biodynamic means: life, in motion. Beneath the movements you can see, something slower, the way a tide moves an ocean under the waves. That is what David listens for.
Magnetism is the older half of it: the laying on of hands, as it has been practised in France for generations. David works with it because it belongs beside this kind of osteopathy, and because of what he sees it do. He will tell you what he is doing, and why, at every stage of the session.
What happens in the session
Step 1
We talk first
David asks what brought you in, what has already been looked at medically, and what you are hoping for. If this is not the session you need, he will say so before you are on the table.
Step 2
Where the hands go
You lie down fully dressed. For the biodynamic work, David’s hands rest directly on you — the skull, the feet, the ribs, the sacrum, wherever the body asks for them. For the magnetism, he stays in contact with the field around you and lets his hands be drawn to where they are wanted. He stays passive throughout. He does not choose the place; your body does.
Step 3
The life force does the work
From there David does not intervene. The life force takes over and does the work itself: rebalancing, reorganising, letting go of what the body has been holding, clearing what has gone stagnant and drawing in what is missing. None of it is his decision. He is there to observe, to follow, and to go where he is led.
Step 4
Afterwards
Take the first few minutes slowly — people often get up a little dreamy. Some feel lighter straight away, others notice things settle over the following two or three days. David will tell you honestly whether another session is worth your money.
What it reaches
Gentle does not mean limited
Working this lightly is not a smaller kind of osteopathy. Bone, joint, fascia and the tissue around them all respond to it — often the stubborn physical problems most of all, because nothing is forced and the body never has to defend itself against the technique.
Back pain, a neck that will not turn, an old injury that never quite settled, headaches, a jaw that clicks — David works with all of it here. What changes between this session and a structural one is the route in, not the range of what can be reached.

What people come in for
What people bring to this session — physical and otherwise.
Pain that keeps coming back
A back, a neck, a shoulder that settles and then returns. Working with the tissue rather than against it often reaches what repeated adjustment has not.
Old injuries that never settled
A fall, a sprain, surgery, a difficult birth. The body organised itself around it at the time and never quite reorganised afterwards.
Exhaustion and upheaval
Tiredness that sleep is not fixing, a long stretch of stress, grief, the flat patch after an illness or after a hard year.
Which session should you book?
This one
Book an energetic treatment if you already know this kind of work and came for it deliberately, or if the gentlest possible approach is what you want.
Expect stillness rather than movement. It reaches structural problems as readily as anything else offered here — it simply gets there by listening rather than by force.
Holistic osteopathy
Better for a first visit, for a problem nobody has explained to you yet, during pregnancy, for children, or whenever you are simply not sure.
It comes with a full assessment and a wider range of techniques — and David can still bring gentle cranial and biodynamic work into that session where it suits you. More on holistic osteopathy.
Please note
This treatment is not a substitute for urgent medical care. If you have severe or sudden symptoms, please seek medical advice promptly. David is an osteopath: he works with his hands only, helping the body rebalance and draw on its own capacity to heal. He makes a functional diagnosis, not a medical one, and he does not prescribe or carry out medical procedures such as surgery. If something needs a doctor, he will say so.
