What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a hands-on approach to health built on one core idea: structure and function are inseparable. It takes in muscles, joints, fascia, organs, posture, movement habits, lifestyle and the nervous system — rather than treating pain as an isolated problem. It is safe, non-invasive, and suitable for all ages, from newborns to seniors.
The body works as a connected whole, so pain in one place may be driven by posture, an old injury, stress, work habits, sports training, or restricted movement somewhere else entirely. A consultation therefore looks beyond the painful area to understand how your body is compensating, where movement is restricted, and what is feeding the problem. The aim is to reduce unnecessary tension, improve mobility, support recovery, and help you move more comfortably.
What David treats
The most common reasons patients come in. If yours is not here, ask — most complaints of movement, pain or tension are worth assessing.
Back, neck and joints
Chronic back and neck pain · Sciatica and nerve pain · Joint stiffness · Sports injuries · Repetitive strain · Post-surgery recovery
Head and jaw
Headaches, including tension headaches · Migraines · TMJ and jaw tension · Tension held in the neck and skull
Pregnancy and children
Pregnancy and postpartum discomfort · Infant colic and reflux · More on maternity and pediatric care
Posture, digestion and stress
Posture-related discomfort · Digestive issues · Stress, fatigue and general stiffness · Poor sleep and difficulty winding down
Please note
This treatment is not a substitute for urgent medical care. If you have severe or sudden symptoms, please seek medical advice promptly. David is an osteopath: he works with his hands only, helping the body rebalance and draw on its own capacity to heal. He makes a functional diagnosis, not a medical one, and he does not prescribe or carry out medical procedures such as surgery. If something needs a doctor, he will say so.
Treatment techniques
Soft-tissue work, stretching, joint mobilisation, structural adjustment, functional techniques, craniosacral and biodynamic approaches — all of them sit inside the session. Which ones David uses is decided with you, after the assessment.
Structural adjustments
Precise spinal and joint corrections, and joint mobilisation, that relieve nerve pressure, restore alignment, and address the root cause of your pain — not just the symptoms.
Soft tissue and fascia
Deep, targeted work on muscles, connective tissue and fascia, with stretching where it helps, to release chronic tension, improve circulation, and restore natural movement.
Craniosacral therapy
Light, precise touch that calms the nervous system, reduces stress, and supports deep healing — particularly effective for headaches, fatigue and anxiety.
Biodynamic osteopathy
A deeply relaxing, fluid approach that works with the body’s own rhythms to release long-held restrictions and restore vitality at a foundational level.
Maternity and pediatric
Gentle care for expectant mothers, infants and children — from pelvic alignment during pregnancy to colic, plagiocephaly and feeding difficulties in newborns.
Sports performance
Trusted by Ferrari Racing drivers and national athletes — injury prevention, faster recovery, and performance-focused treatment tailored to your sport.
Your first visit, step by step
Step 1
In-depth consultation
We begin by listening — your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, work habits, sports activity, stress, posture habits and health goals.
Step 2
Physical assessment
David examines posture, mobility and where restrictions lie. This goes beyond the site of pain — often the source is elsewhere.
Step 3
Personalised treatment
Using the techniques best suited to you, chosen together, to release restrictions and support your body’s own self-healing capacity.
Step 4
Your care plan
Acute issues often settle in 2–3 visits; chronic conditions may need 4–6. You review and adjust the plan together as you progress.
Is osteopathy right for you?
When it tends to help
Osteopathy may suit you if you are looking for hands-on care for pain, stiffness, posture-related discomfort, sports recovery or restricted movement.
It also helps if you have tried the standard approaches and still feel your body is not moving well, or if you want someone to look at how the different parts are working together. If David thinks your symptoms need medical investigation, he will say so and point you to the right professional.
How it differs from chiropractic
Both are hands-on, and both can help with back pain, neck pain, joint stiffness and movement problems. The difference is usually in the assessment and the treatment style.
Chiropractic often concentrates on spinal alignment and joint adjustment. Osteopathy takes the wider view — muscles, joints, fascia, posture, lifestyle, movement patterns, and how one part of the body compensates for another. David’s work may include structural adjustment where it is appropriate, but it is never limited to adjustment.
